Photography for every chapter

At Forwardscale, we work with private clients celebrating life's milestones and businesses building their visual identity. Our studio on Sainte-Catherine Street serves as a creative space for portraits, family sessions, and product shoots, while our team also travels to capture weddings, events, and on-location projects across Montreal.

Every photography project we take on includes comprehensive post-processing. We believe the work doesn't end when the shutter clicks—careful editing, color correction, and retouching bring out the full potential of each image. Whether you need files optimized for web use, high-resolution images for print, or formatted photos for advertising campaigns, we prepare deliverables that match your specific requirements.

Our approach centers on understanding what you need before we pick up a camera. We take time to discuss your vision, the context for the photos, and how they'll ultimately be used. This conversation shapes everything from lighting choices to composition, resulting in images that serve their intended purpose.

Our photography services

Each service includes consultation, the photography session, and professional post-processing.

Wedding photography

We document weddings from preparation through reception, capturing candid moments alongside formal portraits. Our wedding coverage includes multiple hours of photography, detailed shots of décor and details, and group photos with family and guests. After the event, we carefully edit and retouch selected images, delivering a collection that tells the story of your day.

Portrait photography

Portrait sessions are tailored to individual needs, whether you're updating professional headshots, creating artistic personal portraits, or capturing a milestone moment. We work in our studio with controlled lighting or on location for environmental portraits. Sessions typically last one to two hours, with post-processing that includes skin retouching and color grading.

Family photo sessions

Family sessions bring together parents, children, grandparents, and extended family members for photographs that become treasured keepsakes. We create a relaxed atmosphere where genuine interactions can unfold naturally. Our approach balances posed group shots with candid moments, and we're experienced in working with children of all ages.

Product photography for business

Product photography supports e-commerce, catalogs, and advertising materials. We photograph items on clean backgrounds for catalog consistency or create styled lifestyle shots that show products in context. Our post-processing includes background removal, color accuracy adjustments, and formatting for various platforms and print specifications.

Event reportage photography

Event coverage documents corporate gatherings, conferences, launches, and private celebrations. We work unobtrusively to capture speakers, attendees, venue details, and key moments throughout your event. The resulting images serve internal communications, marketing materials, and social media content.

Children's photography

Photographing children requires patience and an ability to work with spontaneous energy. We create sessions that feel like play, allowing natural expressions and movements to emerge. From newborn portraits to birthday milestone sessions, we adapt our approach to each child's age and temperament.

ID photo sessions

ID photos for passports, visas, and official documents must meet specific technical requirements. We provide properly formatted images that comply with Canadian passport standards and international visa requirements. Sessions are quick, and photos can be printed on-site or delivered digitally.

Our approach

How a photography project unfolds from first conversation to final delivery.

1

Initial conversation

We start by learning about your project—what you're photographing, how the images will be used, and any specific requirements or preferences you have. This discussion helps us recommend the appropriate service and estimate the scope of work.

2

Planning and preparation

Before the shoot, we finalize details including date, location, timing, and any props or styling needs. For product photography, we discuss how items should be presented. For events and weddings, we review schedules and identify key moments to capture.

3

The photography session

During the shoot, we focus on capturing images that meet your objectives while remaining attentive to spontaneous opportunities. We communicate throughout the session, showing you previews when helpful and adjusting our approach based on what we're seeing.

4

Post-processing and editing

After the shoot, we select the strongest images and begin detailed editing. This includes color correction, exposure adjustments, retouching, and any specialized processing your project requires. We maintain consistent quality across all delivered images.

5

Delivery and support

Final images are delivered in the formats you need—high-resolution files for print, optimized versions for web, or both. We can also prepare files for specific platforms or publications. If you need prints or additional formats later, we keep your files on hand.

Common questions about our services

How far in advance should I book a wedding or event?

For weddings and large events, we recommend reaching out two to three months ahead when possible. This allows time for planning meetings and ensures availability on your date. For smaller sessions, a few weeks' notice is typically sufficient.

What's included in post-processing?

All our services include professional editing. This covers color correction, exposure balancing, and basic retouching. For portraits and weddings, we provide more detailed skin retouching and artistic adjustments. Product photos include background work and color accuracy calibration.

Can you photograph at locations outside Montreal?

Yes, we travel for weddings, events, and on-location shoots throughout Quebec and beyond. Travel arrangements and any associated costs are discussed during the planning phase before we confirm your booking.

How long until I receive my photos?

Turnaround time depends on the project scope. ID photos are available immediately. Portrait and family sessions are typically delivered within one to two weeks. Weddings and large events require three to four weeks for complete editing and delivery.

Do you provide printed photos or albums?

We deliver digital files as standard, but printed products are available. We can produce individual prints in various sizes, photo books, and albums. We'll discuss print options during your project planning if physical products interest you.
